In May, St Peter's in Plymouth was visited by representatives from The Church of England Education Office, who carried out a SIAMS inspection.
Siams inspections are carried out in all Church of England schools to evaluate their Christian distinctiveness and effectiveness as a church school, they explore how the school's Christian vision drives its work and enables pupils and adults to flourish.
In their final report, the inspectors commented ,"St Peter's Christian vision of 'living hopefully, learning joyfully and loving each other' is deeply embedded"
Amongst the many strengths within the school, the inspectors were particularly impressed by the school's response "to the diverse needs of pupils and the wider community. Support and provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and for vulnerable families is remarkable. This leads to a deep sense of belonging and is described as transformative by stakeholders."
I think we're all with Rachel Martin, our CFPO, when she commented "What a fantastic report. This really is a school to be so proud of!"
