Katie Fleet is a St Christopher’s director who doesn’t let distance get in the way of her important voluntary role.
Katie lives and works in New South Wales as a specialist consultant and educator in Autism. She attends board meetings online and has been a great addition. Whilst back in the UK to visit family and friends, she took time out to spend a day visiting St Matthews, St Peter’s and St George’s.
She noted the distinct nature of each of the 3 schools, yet all with a heart for inclusion.
A big thanks to staff and pupils of the schools for your welcome.
Katie says "It's been a year since I joined the Board of Directors for St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust in a voluntary, remote capacity. This week, I had the privilege of visiting three of the Trust's schools during my time in the UK, and I was truly blown away by what I witnessed.
The dedication and passion of the staff towards the Trust's values was evident in every teaching and learning example I witnessed. The work that all the schools and staff are doing is unprecedented. In a socio-economic climate that presents numerous challenges, Jo Evans and her team have achieved something truly remarkable.
They have created a school trust that embraces and celebrates every child, regardless of their background or needs, allowing them to thrive and flourish.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of this system, even if it's from afar. My visit this week has only reinforced my commitment to supporting the Trust's mission, and I'm already looking forward to my next opportunity to be on the ground and witness the incredible work firsthand."
