St Michael’s held their first Diversity Day since Covid. The afternoon was a huge success with many families taking part, representing 22 different cultures and languages from across the world. The school’s children and their families had the opportunity to celebrate and explore the range of colours, tastes and languages. Some of the children wore traditional clothes; other families made and shared delicious, food. There were performances of cultural dances, with accompanying music. One of the school’s pupils is taking part in the national dance competition for Indian Classical dance and she performed beautifully. Each family welcomed their visitors, children were encouraged to ask questions and find out about life in a different country. The event was held within school time for the children and continued into the late afternoon, so parents and other members of St Michael’s school community could experience it too.
