Before half term, the St Christopher’s Academy Spring ‘Top of the Rocks’ TTRockstars tournament took place. Over the 1 week period, just under 3 million correct answers were entered by 1,698 KS2 pupils who took part across 16 of our schools (excluding 2 infant schools)! That’s an average of just under 2,000 correct answers per child, with our top individual performer registering an incredible 63,724 correct answers! These events help children learn some more times tables facts, supporting them to be more confident mathematicians.
Some particular achievements to highlight and celebrate are:
All Saints Axminster, the overall winners, a step up from 3rd place last term
Old Priory in 2nd place and Beer in 3rd who are both making a habit of finishing on the podium!
Congratulations also to our biggest improvers St George’s who rose an impressive 10 places from 16th last term to 6th this term.
Of the 86 classes that took part, 5J/V at Old Priory finished in 1st place, followed by Year 4 at St Peter’s (Plymouth) in 2nd and 6H at Old Priory in 3rd. An amazing effort from these 3 classes.
Thank you to all the staff who have motivated and encouraged pupils and given the tournament a high profile across our schools.
Look out for the next TTRockstars tournament in the summer term which will take place between the 24th April and 1st May!
